Amazon's new Ottawa Distribution Centre

The new distribution centre in Ottawa's East end is now under construction. The builder Broccolini is building the largest warehouse in the Ottawa area. The warehouse will be over a million square foot.

The goal is to have the facility built for the 2019 Christmas season which is a busy time for Amazon. The facility will be creating over 600 middle-class jobs for Canadians.

Ottawa has a professional baseball team playing in the Can-Am League. Founded in 2014 the team has won 1st place in the Can-Am league in 2016 defeating the Rockland Boulders. Games are played at the Raymond Chabot Grand Thornton Park (or RCGT Park) located at 300 Coventry Rd just off HWY 417.

The Canadian Museum of Nature located at 240 McLeod Street in Ottawa is a great spot for the family to spend an afternoon. It is currently hosting the Brain "The Inside Story" exhibit until September 3rd 2018.

Ottawa's summer is coming to an end and this means students from Ottawa's Universities and Colleges are back in Ottawa looking for apartments for the school year to come.

Those who were able to secure apartments before the summer started are feeling a sigh of relief as they will not have to compete with those looking for spaces for September 1st. The latest CMHC data from October 2017 shows Ottawa's vacancy rate at 1.7%. Average rent for the City at that time was $1,136.

Ottawa has seen a very busy real estate market this summer. Houses and condos have been selling a rapid paste and we've seen good price growth in most areas of the City. 

Another market that is very heated is Ottawa's rental market! It's a challenge for many to find a rental in our City. From August 1st 2016 to July 31st 2017 there was a total of 3,056 properties that rented through the Ottawa Real Estate Board's MLS.

Highest Price Increase Per Ottawa Neighbourhoods - July 2018

Ottawa's real estate market is seeing some great gains across the board. The best performing neighbourhoods in Ottawa compared with July 2017 have been Hintonburg / West Centre Town with a 12.1% increase, Barrhaven with a $12.7%, Manotick / Kars with a 10.4% increase, Blossom Park, Airport with a 10% increase, Overbrook and Castle Heights with a 10% increase, Elmvale Acres with a 9.8% increase and finally Kanata has seen a 9.6% increase in the last 12 months.
