The family-oriented neighbourhood of Castle Heights is located just East of Ottawa's Downtown Core. The area offers good size properties on large lots minutes to Downtown Ottawa. The majority of homes in Castle Heights were built in the 1950's and 1960's and include many types of properties including single-family homes such as bungalows as well as multi-family properties like duplexes (both up and down as well as side by side) and purpose-built triplexes.
Transportation and Public Transit
McArthur Avenue which runs in the middle of Castle Heights now has dedicated bike lane and improved safety measures for pedestrians. The neighbourhood is located within a 15 mins car ride to Downtown's Government and other office buildings. This mature area has nice parks and mature trees. It is in close proximity to schools, as well as lots of shopping around including the St-Laurent Shopping Centre to the South. Other notable businesses of Castle Heights include Coconut Lagoon Indian Restaurant, The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, Bel-Air Toyota and many more. Residents of Castle Heights are close to the City of Ottawa's Don Gamble Centre which is located on Coté Street. The City of Ottawa ran sports complex has a multitude of activities for the whole family including a library, a large indoor swimming pool and a skating rink. The St-Laurent Complex also offers classes of cooking, aerobics and indoor cycling. The complex also has weight and cardio room as well as a number of programs for kids.
