The Canadian Museum of Nature located at 240 McLeod Street in Ottawa is a great spot for the family to spend an afternoon. It is currently hosting the Brain "The Inside Story" exhibit until September 3rd 2018.

Many business owners are opposing the Salvation Army's plan to build a $50 million dollar shelter at 333 Montreal Road which will house 350 beds with 140 of those being for emergency stays.
Concerns from business owners are centered around the move to the Montreal Road location hindering business and development opportunities along Montreal Road and neighbouring streets. The other concern is that Vanier is already home to numerous shelters and adding another shelter of this size would simply...The City of Ottawa council will vote on Wednesday, November 22nd on the controversial plan to build a large complex that will house the Salvation Army on Montreal Rd in Ottawa's Vanier neighbourhood.
More than 140 people from the community came last week to speak about their concerns and disapproval of the Salvation Army's move to the City's Vanier area. Despite the large turn out the planning committee approved the plan on Friday night in a 6-3 vote.
