Claridge to Build Between Albert and Queen Near Lyon LRT Station

One of Ottawa's largest builders Claridge Homes has announced the revival of their downtown tower plans next to the Lyon LRT station. Claridge has a piece of land between Albert Street and Queen Street in Downtown Ottawa.

With the Ottawa LRT / O-Train Lines opening early next year Claridge feels this is a great time to start the project. They predict lots of demand for rentals and condo units near the downtown core. The vacancy rate for rentals in Ottawa is quite low and Claridge as well as other builders are looking to capitalize on this.

The land has a parking lot, as well as a strip club, bar and restaurant. The latest Claridge plans are for 3 narrow towers which will offer 160 rental units, 229 condos and another 177 rental units. There will be a large commercial space on the ground floor dedicated to retail.

The City of Ottawa is looking for high-density projects and buildings to be built along the Ottawa LRT line and near its O-Train Stations
