Sandy Hill is bordered on the west by the Rideau Canal and on the East by the Rideau River. To the north it reaches Rideau Street and to the south it stretches to Queensway Highway (417) and Nicolas St. Sandy Hill is home to many embassies, residences and parks. The neighbourhood was named after its hilly Geographic’s and its sandy soil which makes it difficult to build large buildings. Notable locations in Sandy Hill include Laurier House, University of Ottawa, Strathcona Park, Heritage Canada, and Amnesty International.

Churches in Sandy Hill include All Nations Church, All Saints Anglican Church, St. Alban’s Anglican Church, St. Clement Catholic Church, St. Paul’s Eastern United Church, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Housing prices will range from roughly $320,000 to $1,400,000 for a freehold row, semi or detached. Condo prices can range from $180,000 for a small 1 bedroom up to $860,000 for some of the higher end units.
